A second before the sky closed, “Travel with Rachel” managed to board the flight to Tanzania as it was planned and the delegation of volunteers arrived at the special school Mwema Children’s Centre in the town of Karato, which provides an opportunity for children in the area who are not in the frameworks to receive a formal education and a better future.

Travel with Rachel’s flight landed with crates weighing more than 450 kg of products and donations worth about 20,000 NIS for the purchase of equipment for renovation and computing.

And… What did they manage to do?!

✅Establishing a dining room for the children, who until then were sitting to eat on the steps of the living room

✅Arranging a computer corner in one of the school spaces, and the laptops which were collected to be installed there.

✅Painting the walls of the building and decorate them with murals of iconic sites from around the world.

✅Turning the neglected yard outside the classrooms into a great playground.

✅Renovate the toilets and install an outdoor sink for handwashing.

Beyond the material conditions, the real change is in the souls of the volunteers and of the children.

“Travel with Rachel” volunteers created, shared, and gave with all their heart and… Received much more in return!

Smiles, songs, dances, and games accompanied every moment and burned beautiful memories in every heart.
