The United Nations Tanzania office has announced that all its flags will be flown half-mast on Friday (March 26, 2021) when the body of the Tanzania's Late President will be laid to rest.
The UN&'s decision was communicated on Tuesday via its official twitter handle @UnitedNationsTZ while mentioning President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
On Friday, 26 March 2021, the UN Flag will be lowered to half-mast at UN Headquarters as a mark of respect for the passing of H.E. Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli, President of the United Republic of Tanzania. All UN offices are encouraged to lower flags," a UN's tweet read.
Dr. Magufuli passed away on March 17, 2021 at Mzena Hospital in Dar es Salaam where he was hospitalised after suffering from chronic heart complications.
