On July 23rd, 2019 Brig. Gen. Kahema Juni Mziray, Defence Attache and Mr. Fredierich Gilbert Mwakitwange, Financial Attache both representing Amb. Job Daudi Masima attended the graduation ceremony and the private farewell party with Pr. Avi Sagi-Schwartz, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology and Child Development, Founder and Director (Emeritus), Center for the Study of Child Development, University of Haifa as Master of Ceremony for all child development students including distribution of the MA degree to the child development graduates among who was standing Ms. Genoveva Gerard Chuchuba from the United Republic of Tanzania. Our graduate was honored by the Attaches' presence and heartily moved by the Ambassador's words of support and congratulations they convey on his behalf.
The International Master of Arts Program in Child Development was established with the goal of improving the lives of children at risk in developing countries around the world by training and promoting professional leadership.
The program is offered through the Faculty of Social Sciences in conjunction with the Center for the Study of Child Development and the International School, University of Haifa and equips future professionals with a comprehensive theoretical basis and an applied skillset that will be effective in influencing the well-being of children and their families in a positive manner.
Elements of study include developmental psychology, psychopathology, neuroscience, cognitive and language development, intervention and prevention, methodology and statistics, parenting, and child development in a cross-cultural environment. Workshops in clinical observation are also included.
