Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa called on Monday innovators and tech industries to make a conscious attempt and develop latest technology that can help provide solutions in the country.
The Premier learned that technology is changing so rapidly and that researchers must try match to the speed. He said at a meeting in Dar es Salaam when launching this year's research and innovation week organized by the University of Dar es Salaam.
"These technological changes are occurring at a rapid pace in the world driven by the trend of economic and social development. Therefore, we have no choice but accommodate the changes," he said.
He said researchers and innovators must take deliberate steps in developing latest technologies for the sustainable development of the country.
Education, Science and Technology Minister, Prof. Joyce Ndalichako expressed the Government support to research and innovators across the country.
