On September 1st, 2019, Tanzania Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Japhet Hasunga arrived at Ben Gurion International Airport, Lod, Israel for a six-day professional tour. He was welcomed by Brigadier General Kahema Juni Mziray, Defence Attache, on behalf of H.E. Job Daudi Masima, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania accredited to the State of Israel.
 
During his six-day professional tour, Minister Hasunga attended as Guest of Honour the Agrostudies Graduation Ceremony held in Jerusalem on September 2nd, 2019.
 
The Ceremony involved 1,600 young students from more than 12 different countries among which 45 (36 young men and 9 young women) were Tanzanians and for each of them, they had the privilege to receive from the Minister himself their certification.
 
On arrival, Hon. Min. Japhet Hasunga delivered a short statement in which he announced the arrival of 100 new students from Tanzania to allow them studying the techniques and technologies implied in the Israeli modern agriculture in Israel at Agrostudies.

It was made possible thanks to the government of the United Republic of Tanzania. The Minister declared that this significant opportunity was due thanks to the request made by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli and delivered to the Israeli government.

With this in mind, Minister Hasunga met with Mr. Yaron Tamir, CEO of Agrostudies, to implement and develop this project.


At the ICC (Jerusalem International Conventional Center), Hon. Min. Japhet Hasunga congratulated the young men and women for their graduation and promised that the Tanzanian government led by President Dr. John Pombe Magufuli was committed to improving the land and environment, so they had the full potential to use the know-how they had acquired to dynamise the Tanzanian agricultural sector.
 
Tanzania Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Japhet Hasunga emphasized that the government of the United Republic of Tanzania had been entitled of a total of 100 additional applications dedicated to Tanzanian youths to study modern agriculture in Israel, insisting on the significance of the opportunity to put in practice the skills and knowledges the graduates acquired for the best of their country.
 
Brigadier General Kahema Juni Mziray, Defence Attache, speaking on behalf of H.E. Job Daudi Masima, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania, enhanced that diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Israel were becoming tighter and stronger. 

Since the arrival of Amb. Job Masima on June 15th, 2017 and later, with the official opening of the Tanzania Embassy in Israel on May 8th, 2018, the cooperation between the two countries reinforced itself in many fields and, in the agricultural domain, allowed Tanzanians to get the most advanced and innovative practices impled in Israel.

He said that, thanks to the Israeli educational and partnership system, Tanzania kept on potentializing its benefits as Israel is one of the best leading countries in agricultural research and technologies development.
