The Tanzanian Minister of Agriculture, Japhet Hasunga, accompanied by the Tanzanian delegation, held constructive and booming talks with MASHAV (Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) composed by Amb. Gil Haskel, Head of MASHAV accompanied by other five key Directors. Mr. Tamir Yaron, CEO of Agrostudies was also part of the meeting.

Minister Hasunga recapped his acknowledgements to the Israeli government for fulfilling Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, President of the United Republic of Tanzania’s request to raise the participation of young students to Agrostudies one-year training from 45 to 100.

The tackled themes, beyond strengthening the ties already sound between the two nations, were leaned towards the means to reinforce the cooperation between both countries in the domain of research, increasing the crop value as the fields’ yardage and their productivity.

Ambassador Gil Haskel, Head of MASHAV, confirmed that the Israeli government is ready to assist Tanzania in improving its agricultural sector and supporting Tanzania to turn its subsistence agriculture into a modern and profitable one.

To do so, the Israeli government besides inviting young students to Israel to get skills and knowledges considered hosting professionals from Tanzania to enhance the cooperation in the sector.

Ambassador Job Masima, for his part, shared his appreciation on how was conducted Minister Japhet Hasunga’ six-day professional tour which let already discern the positive perspectives to come for Tanzania.

Mr. Tamir Yaron, CEO of Agrostudies stated that the Tanzanian young students were very dedicated and involved in their training which would certainly lead to get beneficial results in Tanzania.

He said that, thanks to the Israeli educational and training system, Tanzania would keep on potentializing its benefits as Israel is one of the best leading countries in agricultural research and technologies development.
