The Tanzanian Minister of Agriculture, Japhet Hasunga held a talks meeting with his counterpart, the Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Uri Ariel.

They unanimously agreed that both government of both countries aimed to develop agriculture, especially productivity, research and technology in Tanzania.

During the meeting also attended by the Tanzania Ambassador to Israel, Job Daudi Masima, Minister Hasunga took this opportunity to renew his gratitude to the Israeli Government for allowing 100 new students from Tanzania to follow the Agrostudies training program.

Minister Hasunga highlighted the intention of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, led by his President, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, to assist the young graduates on their way back after their training by providing them with basic requirements including land enabling them to develop. He also informed that a special department into the Ministry of Agriculture was created to support and boost the connections between the farmers and the markets.

As well, Minister Hasunga mentioned that Tanzania was rich of attractive lands for Israeli investors and was ready to provide every related data according to their class.

The Government of Israel is ready to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) upon presentation by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, to facilitate the Israeli investment and ease the cooperation between both countries.
