President John Magufuli held talks with a group of 30 cardiologists from the Save a Child's Heart (SACH) organization from Wolfson Medical Center, Holon at the State House on 8 November 2018. The team was in Tanzania to conduct heart surgeries on a total of 51 Tanzanian children at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI), Dar es Salaam.

President Magufuli saluted the cardiologists from Israel for their commitment to saving the lives of Tanzanian children, as well as the Israeli government for its support for the mission.

"I would like to thank Israel's Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for continuing to cement the existing bilateral relationship between our two countries," he said, noting Israel's support for various Tanzanian economic sectors including health.

"Israelis are our long-time friends... we have been working and supporting each other on a number of issues. We (Tanzania) opened our Embassy in Israel with the aim of further cementing our bilateral relationship and enhance our cooperation for the benefit of our peoples."

Over 750 patients with various heart complications have so far benefited from cardiovscular services offered by cardiologists from SACH since 1999.

The SACH's team is led by the Hospital's Executive Director, Simon Fisher and lead surgean, Prof. Sasson Lior.
