Hon. Dr. AUGUSTINE P. MAHIGA, Tanzania Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation has officially launched the Tanzania Embassy's offices in Israel and urged its counterpart to do the same in U.R.T.
Eminent people attended on 8 May 2018 the Mission’s opening with as guest of Honor, Hon. Mrs. AYELET SHAKED, Israel Minister for Justice, but also many Ambassadors accredited to the State of Israel and Tanzanians living in the country.
In his speech, Dr. Mahiga referred to Israel as a landmark model which has undertaken major development initiatives in various sectors among which irrigation, industries, medical, ICT, security, water recycling and solar technologies despite its relative challenging environment.
In defense and security, Minister Mahiga said the Tanzanians remember its assistance to establish a successful National Defense Force which is well-known to Tanzanian people.
Dr. Mahiga said that Israel is the world's most recognized country that led many of its citizens to win the Nobel prize and it is based on their move towards humanity. He thanked Hon Avidgor Liberman (minister of defense) and Hon. Shaked Ayelet (Minister of Justice) who visited URT recently.
On the contrary, Hon. Shaked noted that Israel is ready to collaborate with Tanzania in various sectors including assisting modern technology in agriculture to maximize productivity. Alternatively, the first Tanzanian Ambassador in Israel, Hon. Job Daudi Masima thanked all stakeholders including the Government of Israel for providing efficient co-operation with the mission’s opening on 08 May 2018. He assured all stakeholders not to hesitate to come to the embassy to ask for any service that they want.
