President Samia Suluhu Hassan is today (April 22, 2021) is expected to make her first address to the Parliament since she took power, following the death of her predecessor Dr. John Magufuli.
The Head of State address will be live broadcast, thus also addressing the Nation at large.
A timetable released by the Parliament Office shows the chronological of events ahead of the highly awaited speech.
- 15:15-15:50: Arrival of prominent leaders in the Bunge Hall
- 15:55: Arrivals of Speaker Job Ndugai and President Samia Suluhu Hassan in the Bunge Hall
- 16:00-16:05: The National and the East African Anthems will be played
- 16:05-16-10: Statement from Speaker Job Ndugai
- 16:10: President Samia Suluhu Hassan's Speech followed by a vote of thanks from the Parliament's representative, MP Jumanne Kishimba
