While Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie are in 14-day isolation after she tests positive, Kenya has confirmed first coronavirus case in woman who came into Kenya from the US.
According to Kenyan media, CS Kagwe said that although patient is stable and eating, she will not be released from hospital until she is confirmed negative.
The patient, who was diagnosed with Covid-19 last night had travelled back to Kenya from the United States via London, CS Kagwe told a news conference.
The news comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global pandemic on Wednesday.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the patient is a female student. According to Capital FM Kagwe said the patient was in a stable condition. She is being treated at the Infectious Diseases Unit at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
The Ministry said it has contacted other people who were in the same flight with the quarantined patient for testing.
The authorities in the East African country have traced all contacts the patient made since her arrival.
According to BBC, Mr Trudeau is not showing symptoms and will work from home.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, is being tested after an aide tests positive.
