On Saturday, December 15th, 2018 at the Peres Center for Innovation and Peace in Tel Aviv, was hosted a special evening in celebration of 10 years of Innovation: Africa, 60 years of MASHAV and 70 years of Israel.
On this occasion, H.E. Mr Job Daudi Masima was rewarded for his support in bringing Israeli Solar and Water Technologies to Tanzania.
Innovation: Africa was honored to be addressed by the Israeli Minister of Agriculture, Uri Ariel and joined by African and Israeli Ambassadors among them H.E. Mr Job Daudi Masima, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania (pictured) who works in close cooperation with Innovation: Africa, as well as many of Innovation: Africa's donors.
It was a fun evening of music, dancing, food, videos and of course thank-yous. Many thank-yous to Innovation:Africa supporters, to the Israeli Government and especially to 24 of Innovation: Africa's managers who attended the event and who came especially and for the first time to Israel from Africa. They are the ones who have helped to bring light and water to over 1 million people in 10 African countries.
In the past 10 years, Innovation: Africa has brought Israeli solar, agricultural and water technologies to over 200+ projects in 10 African countries and each project is tracked live, thanks to their Israeli remote monitoring technology.
In 2012, Innovation: Africa was granted Special Consultative Status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, marking them as one of a select group of NGO’s that have access to UN meetings at the highest level, and can participate in global discussions on the needs of rural communities.
In 2013, Innovation: Africa was rewarded the UN Innovation Award at the United Nation’s Global South-South Development Expo, recognizing their self-sustaining model to transform lives using Israeli innovation.
